when I’m found
lying under a dresser
or under the old side table
that resides next to
the ripped recliner
be sure to dust me off
I was only discarded
I may still serve a purpose

I haven’t shared poetry not written by me before. But, don’t we all feel this way sometimes? The elderly, the depressed, the forgotten, the fallen, the discouraged, the fired, in one way or another, often against our will, we are retired. I also think of the books that fall off or behind and gather dust. The wisdom of ages. Will I find it and dust it off? Thank you John White

Another reason this speaks to me is because this is what I want to do. I want to rescue, bring back to life, encourage, make useful those that are wasting their most precious gift. Never, never, never give up!
